In the same year, she released Know It All. Scars to Your Beautiful is one of five songs she wrote that made it to Billboard's chart. Based on an interview she did together with Rap Up, the track had lots of significance for a lot of the listeners who related to her personal story of accepting and loving your self. Cara's songs often include positive thoughts about mental wellness and the importance of being self-love. The music of Cara is directly from her struggle with depression, insomnia and other issues. According to a Reuters interview, her album was described as halfway tumultuous, half perfected. She claims she has grown by therapy and is adamant about encouraging other people to get help when they need it. Alessia Cara has been a Canadian musician since 1996. Her parents have Italian descent. Alessia Cara's parents gave her her first guitar at the age of 10. That was her first step with music. In 2013, she covered the songs she loved for YouTube which is a well-known media platform. It was done to show that she had both the ability and the confidence to become an artist. In fact she covered one of her tracks Sweater Weather was the song that made her the focus of EP Entertainment. They allowed her to create as well as record herself songs.
